Alessandro Magnano San Lio is a Senior Associate at Alma LED within the Investment Funds team.

He provides legal advice in banking and financial regulation, with a particular focus on the management and setup of alternative investment funds (AIFs). He assists Italian and foreign managers and institutional investors in establishing AIFs operating in the real estate, private equity, venture capital and other alternative asset sectors.

Alessandro advises financial companies, payment institutions, investment firms (SIM), asset management companies (SGRs) and other regulated entities on all legal and regulatory matters, including compliance and corporate governance.

He supports banks and financial intermediaries in self-assessment processes of corporate bodies, the implementation of internal controls and compliance with disclosure obligations.

Alessandro assists the internal control functions of supervised entities in planning audits and preparing related reporting.

He has gained solid experience in anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF), supporting banks and intermediaries in setting up organizational safeguards, managing risk and preparing mandatory reporting.

Alessandro deals with corporate contracts, assisting clients in negotiating and drafting outsourcing agreements, supply contracts and agreements between regulated operators.

He also supports banks, intermediaries and SGRs in ESG projects, providing advice on integrating environmental, social and governance factors into internal processes and investment decisions. He also manages institutional relations with supervisory authorities, assisting clients in drafting applications and handling inspections and meetings.
